Advanced Software for Pressure Vessel Design

 

Sant’Ambrogio NextGen is an advanced software solution for the mechanical design and verification of pressure vessels and heat exchangers. It supports the main international design codes, including ASME VIII Division 1 and Division 2, EN 13445, EN 13480, AD 2000 Merkblätter and VSR.

The software provides optional modules for wind and seismic analysis in accordance with NTC, Eurocodes, UBC and ASCE, as well as dedicated tools for nozzle load calculations according to WRC 107, 297 and 537. Additional modules cover flange calculations to EN 1591-1, tubesheets to TEMA XI, expansion joints to EJMA XI, and structural analysis and lifting of vertical columns.

Sant’Ambrogio NextGen includes an extensive database of the most commonly used standard components for pressure vessels, such as ASME/ANSI B16, B31, EN 1092-1, EN 1759-1 and related standards. The material database covers all SA and SB materials from ASME Section II, Part D, along with the majority of EN materials for pressure equipment.

A key strength of the software is the immediate recalculation of the equipment when switching between design codes, combined with newly developed advanced features such as 3D graphics, transparency, and a user interface designed for simplicity and intuitiveness. These elements make Sant’Ambrogio NextGen a powerful yet accessible engineering tool.

Additional features further enhance the software, including a guided wizard for the complete definition of TEMA heat exchangers from a single set of input data, dedicated tubesheet calculation tools, modules for the design of rectangular vessels, and comprehensive calculations for all types of supports, including saddles, skirts, legs and brackets.

All main packages of the Classic Edition have been transferred to the NextGen platform: starting from a vessel/ exchanger which has already been graphically assembled, it will be possible to instantly change the calculation code that was originally used. Immediately see the (positive or negative) consequences of a modification of the calculation standard for a specific item. Already in the current version is also possible to calculate an item with the previous editions of the same code.
